Week 7 Art Hackathon

It is my first time hear about Art Hackathon. Traditionally, hackathon is a word from the coders, it is a kind of programming competition event. Coders, designers, and people who has other awesome skills come together as a team and create application or program under some certain topic in limited time, usually within a few dozen hours. I like this kind of event and also attended several times, the whole process is very enjoyable.

But this time, it not only about codes, the topic of the hackathon is art. Especially focusing on the range of new media art. Technology and art have always been complementary to each other, when the camera was not invented, the main function of painting is record information. Followed by the exploration of the Impressionism and the Modernism, in Contemporary Art, art has been deeply combined with the new technology.

Art hackathon is a very good exploration of art. Now the cooperation mode of human being is more and more complex, one person is very difficult to understand all the new technologies, in art hackathon, people collaborate with each other, this is well adapted to the current technology situation.
